Veteran Latino Activist Seeking Elected Office in Adams Morgan

Washington, DC –Jose Sueiro, longtime resident of the Adams Morgan neighborhood in the heart of Washington D.C., has officially declared his candidacy for Advisory Neighborhood Commission representing ANC1C-03. Mr. Sueiro is a former publisher of Spanish language newspapers and political appointee in the administration of Mayor Anthony Williams.
Jose Sueiro is also a leader in the Latino community of the District of Columbia with experience in community organizing and economic development. “There are very few candidates running for office in the District who can relate to the immigrant experience and truly represent all of their constituents the way I can. My constituent services background is deep and extensive. I plan to reach out to every voter in my single member district.”
Mr. Sueiro’s message begins with protecting the quality of life in the Adams Morgan neighborhood and includes improving crime prevention as well as fostering diversity and affordability.
The ANC election is non partisan and appears on the ballot November 2, 2010 for the general election. The deadline for submitting nominating petitions is September 3, 2010.
