WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Thursday, November 20, LATINO Magazine will convene NUESTRO FUTURO, the 2014 Latino Education Conference. The fifth annual event will bring together corporate America, government, academia, and Latino nonprofits. Its objective is to encourage Latinos to enter the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

"Many of our young people simply haven't gotten the message about STEM," said Alfredo Estrada, publisher of LATINO Magazine. "The theme of this year's conference is how corporate America can help spread the word. It's not enough for companies to walk the walk. They should also talk the talk, though outreach to the Latino community. Otherwise, their efforts will have little impact."

The  2014 Latino Education Conference begins at 9:00 AM on Thursday, November 20 at the Capital Hilton, 1001 16th St. NW, in downtown Washington, DC. Attendees will hear from invited keynote speakers MSNBC anchor Jose Diaz-Balart, and Secretary of HUD Julian Castro, and participate in roundtable discussions with noted STEM experts. There will be a complimentary luncheon at 12:00 noon and the conference will end promptly at 2:00 PM.

NUESTRO FUTURO is presented by LATINO Magazine in partnership with ExxonMobil, GM, Lockheed Martin, Microsoft, AT&T, Cigna, National Grid, Herbalife, Coast Guard, USAF, Selective Service System, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and others.
