HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION HOSTS LOFT (LATINOS ON FAST TRACK) INNOVATION SYMPOSIUM AT STANFORD TO ENGAGE, INSPIRE, GUIDE AND PREPARE YOUNG LATINOS FOR CAREERS IN INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY

Los Angeles, CA – The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) will host the Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) Innovation Symposium at the prestigious Faculty Club at Stanford University on May 11 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. More than 75 vetted young professionals and top students from Stanford, UC Berkeley and other universities will actively participate in the program, which will take place during the annual Silicon Valley Latino Leadership Summit. The Symposium will:
·Connect top young innovative minds interested in innovation and technology career paths, and entrepreneurship to each other in a productive, supportive setting with follow up to encourage sustainable relationships;
·Provide young innovators with career guidance and mentorship through experienced Silicon Valley professionals and entrepreneurs;
·Challenge young innovators to develop technology to solve social issues;
·Present resources to help young innovators maximize their impact in the field of education, in their communities, and in the workforce;
·And, introduce sponsors to top young talent in the desirable innovation and technology space.

“We have developed a unique model to sustainably meet America’s needs in innovation and technology,” said Emanuel Pleitez, Chair of HHF who graduated from Stanford and has worked in the tech space. “There is a tremendous interest among young Latinos in the innovation space including computer programming, engineering and entrepreneurship. Our focus on innovation through the LOFT program is to bring together the interest with the tremendous need by the public and private sector in the space.”
 
In addition to Stanford, LOFT Innovation Symposia are being considered at other top universities including University of Chicago, Harvard University, Rice University, and Miami Dade College depending on funding. Southwest Airlines is the Official Airlines of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and LOFT program.

LOFT is an award-winning, leadership and workforce development program focused on “priority fields” including science, technology, engineering, math, education, entrepreneurship, finance, public policy, law and other areas.
