National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) Conference Puts Affordable Care Act Center Stage: Ways to Reduce Health Disparities in US Latino Community

Washington, DC - Who: Luis Vasquez-Ajmac, president of MAYA, will be among the who’s who of the US Latino medical community speaking at NHMA’s 18th Annual Conference, “Affordable Care Act & Best Practices for Hispanics.” Vasquez-Ajmac has helped leading health organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, the Office of Minority Health and Johns Hopkins University with US Latino outreach efforts nationwide. His agency serves its clients from Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

WHAT: Vasquez-Ajmac will speak about the poor US Latino enrollment in the Affordable Care Act, best practices and new ideas to better serve the Latino community in the future.

WHERE: The healthcare conference will be at the Marriott Wardmann Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. (2660 Woodley Rd NW, Washington, DC 20008)  Vasquez-Ajmac’s panel is entitled “Best Practices for Technology to Engage Hispanic Patients.”

WHEN: Friday, March 28, 2014, at 3:30 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.

NHMA’s 18th Annual Conference provides continuing medical education credits and is expected to be attended by 800 participants from across the nation. Participants include physicians, residents, nurses, faculty, medical students, government and industry policymakers, as well as other health care professionals.
