GALA presents Three Kings Day Celebration

Washington, D.C. – For more than 42 years, GALA Hispanic Theatre has celebrated the holidays with its traditional event for the community, Fiesta de los Tres Reyes Magos/The Three Kings Day Celebration. One of the most popular celebrations of Latino cultures, this bilingual presentation tells the timeless story of the Magi with song, dance and storytelling on Sunday, January 5, 2019 at 2 pm.

Fiesta de los Reyes Magos will be presented at GALA Theatre, 3333 14th Street, NW. one block from the Columbia Heights metro station on the Green and Yellow lines. Admission is free. Tickets for the presentation will be distributed at the GALA Box Office at 12 pm on a first-come, first serve basis.

A procession/posada with the Three Kings and live animals –including donkeys, goats, and sheep– will begin at 1:30 pm at the corner of Park Road and 14th Street, NW. 

The 2020 Fiesta de los Reyes Magos features Eduardo Perdomo as Balthasar, Héctor Diaz as Casper, and Quique Aviles as Melchior. Other featured performers are Honduran singer María Isolina and Sol y Rumba; Los Quetzales Mexican Dance Ensemble, a youth dance company directed by Laura Ortiz; and Grupo Rompe Cajon, an Afro-Peruvian youth music group.  Pedro Biaggi, host of Pedro Biaggi Encendío radio and online show for La Red Hispana, is the Master of Ceremonies.

The event will also include the traditional Nativity and the giving of gifts by the Magi. Churros and hot chocolate will be served in the lobby following the performance.

Parking is available behind the theater at a discount in the Giant Food garage on Park Road, NW. The ticket must be validated at the theater for the discount. GALA Theatre is also one block from the Columbia Heights metro station on the Green and Yellow lines.
