2017 LATINO 100

Washington, DC – Hitting the newsstands this week is the latest issue of LATINO Magazine, which includes its annual listing of the companies providing the most opportunities for Latinos. The LATINO 100 is selected by the magazine's editors based upon input from its audience of opinion leaders, influencers, corporate executives and government officials.

"An important factor in the selection process was outreach to the Latino community," said LATINO Publisher Alfredo Estrada. "This is a role that Latino-owned media is uniquely suited to play."

Among those recognized for their commitment to education are AT&T, BP and Lockheed Martin. Other companies cited in areas such as diversity, minority business development, and philanthropy include Carnival, Comcast NBC Universal, Herbalife, Toyota and Hilton.  Several sectors, such as hi-tech, were notably absent. "Immensely profitable companies such as Google and Facebook have failed dismally at creating a diverse workforce," said Estrada. As for others not included, "it could be they failed to meet our deadline, or that we simply don't know enough about their support for the Latino community to evaluate them." The entire listing can be seen online at http://www.latinomagazine.com/spring2015/spring2015/latino-100.html

The LATINO 100 companies will be recognized for their contributions at a reception to be held at 5:30-7:30 PM at the Capital Hilton in Washington, DC on Wednesday, June 7. To RSVP, please contact Dalia Almanza at dalialatinomag@aol.com.
