Patricia Janiot to MC the Inter-American Dialogue's Leadership for the Americas Awards

Washington, DC - The Inter-American Dialogue is honored to announce that Univision News Anchor, Patricia Janiot will be the master of ceremonies at this year’s Leadership for the Americas Awards Gala on October 29, 2018. Some 300 dignitaries from around the world are expected to attend the event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, DC.  

The Leadership for the Americas Awards honor individuals who have dedicated life-long service to the Dialogue’s mission – advancing democratic governance, social equity, and prosperity in our hemisphere.

This year’s awards will be presented to Daniel Servitje, President and CEO of Grupo Bimbo, for his groundbreaking efforts towards sustainable growth and reducing the environmental footprint of Grupo Bimbo and Esperanza Cueto, founder of ComunidadMujer and President of Fundación Colunga for her commitment to promoting the equal participation of women at the highest levels of private and public-sector leadership in Chile.

Patricia Janiot is co-anchor of Univision’s late-night network newscast, Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna, alongside Enrique Acevedo. She also serves as co-anchor for the weekly primetime newsmagazine Aquí y Ahora (Here and Now), with Ilia Calderón and Teresa Rodríguez.

Known to millions of viewers across the US and Latin America as the face of CNN en Español, Janiot is a familiar and highly respected figure in international news. Her distinguished career at the cable network has spanned almost 26 years. She has covered the most important current events of the past quarter century. She has also interviewed most of the Latin American presidents in office during the last 25 years as well as numerous political leaders and prominent world figures, among them Augusto Pinochet, Colin Powell, Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and many others.
 
Janiot has received many accolades for her journalistic achievements, including an Emmy Award. She was also named in the Hispanic Media 100 list, an annual recognition of the 100 most influential Spanish-language journalists and news media executives in the United States.
