Washington, D.C. – LATINA Style Inc. in partnership with Parents Step Ahead (PSA) will host the 16th Annual National LATINA Symposium – a national platform for Latina professionals addressing the most pressing issues affecting the Hispanic woman in the United States – on Thursday, September 5th, 2019 from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Hilton Crystal City at Washington Reagan National in Washington, D.C.
The Symposium features workshops on advancement in the workplace, successful leadership, global public service, applying military skills to everyday life and business, and the role a military spouse plays in their military career. Workshops include: Workforce of the future…Jobs in Today’s Economy; Veteran Employee Resource Group...Understanding the Cultural Differences; Leadership and Diversity in the Military today...Women Blazing the Trail for future Flag Officers, to name a few.
The highlight of the program is the Distinguished Military Service Award Luncheon. LATINA Style is proud to present the only national awards program honoring Latina military and civilian personnel who through their service have enhanced the role of Latinas in their organizations.

U.S. Navy: LCDR. Maggie V. Cole, Lt. Melissa Ann Rodriguez, and Ms. Sara Salas
U.S. Air Force: Capt. Amparo E. Romero Ortiz, MSgt. Brenda Rodriguez, and Mrs. Martha P. Salas (Civilian)
U.S. Coast Guard: CDR. Blanca Rosas and Mrs. Xiomara Torres (Civilian)
The luncheon is also the stage for the President’s Award which recognizes an individual for their distinguished service to our country and exemplary work as a Latino role model.
