Mayor Bill de Blasio Appoints Guillermo Chacon to serve in the New York City Commission on Human Rights

New York, NY - Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed Guillermo Chacón to serve in the New York City Commission on Human Rights. The New York City Commission on Human Rights- charged with the enforcement of the Human Rights Law and with educating the public and encouraging positive community relations- helmed by Chair and Commissioner Carmelyn P. Malalis. The New York City Human Rights Law is one of the most comprehensive human rights laws in the nation.

Mayor Bill de Blasio appoints unsalaried commissioners to the New York City Commission on Human Rights in order to advise in addressing issues of bias, harassment, and discrimination citywide. These new appointment will help the Commission on Human Rights of New York City to continue to lead in fighting all forms of discrimination and serve as an example for our nation.
