Community Service Awards will offer grants and recognize non-profit community organizations that serve critical needs in their community.

Washington, DC (CapitalWirePR) July 10, 2008-- Winchester Homes is excited to begin the 2nd Annual Winchester Homes Community Services Awards program.  The Community Service Awards recognize and honor individuals or groups that go above and beyond in their neighborhoods to make communities throughout the region a better place to live.  All applications and entry material must be submitted by Friday, September 5, 2008.  A Community Service Awards luncheon will be held at the Pooks Hill Marriott in Bethesda, Maryland the first week of October.  The winners will be recognized and the grants will be presented during the event.

Different groups from communities all over the Washington DC area are encouraged to enter and could receive one of the five Community Service Awards grants.  This year, Winchester Homes will award five $2,000 grants to local individuals or organizations that show why they make a difference in helping their community be a better place to live.  An independent panel of judges made up of professionals will review all the materials including different case studies, examples of how the individual or groups contribute to making the community a better place to live and reasons why they should be one of the 2008 Community Service Award winners.

For over 29 years, Winchester Homes has been proud to play an integral part in building over 18,000 homes in communities throughout Maryland and Virginia.  The goal of the Community Service Awards is to recognize, raise awareness and provide financial support to non-profit community organizations throughout Maryland and Virginia that make a difference in their communities each and every day.  From children’s reading and after school programs to programs that help people find jobs and beautify their neighborhoods, Winchester Homes is committed to giving back to the community.
