Join 600 media leaders and overseas reporters at the International Center for Journalists’ annual Awards Dinner, Washington, D.C.’s premier international journalism event. The date is Nov. 14, one week after the presidential election.
American television news icon Charlie Rose will receive ICFJ’s Founders Award for Excellence in Journalism for his insightful interviews with extraordinary figures in every field from politics and science to film and sports. CNN international correspondent Clarissa Ward, who has fearlessly reported on the devastation of war from global hotspots such as Syria and Iraq, will be honored with the Excellence in International Reporting Award. CNN lead political anchor Wolf Blitzer will return as master of ceremonies.
Intrepid investigative journalists from Bosnia and Mexico who have exposed financial crimes and misconduct at the highest levels of society will take home the 2016 Knight International Journalism Award, which recognizes outstanding reporting that makes a difference in people's lives. This year’s recipients are Miranda Patrucic, a Sarajevo-based reporter who has uncovered corruption from Central Asia to Europe and beyond, and the investigative team at Aristegui Noticias, a Mexican news site led by Carmen Aristegui, one of the country’s best-known journalists.
