After several years of groundbreaking research and a successful run in our nation’s capital, the Smithsonian Latino Center is proud to present Cerámica de los Ancestros: Central America’s Past Revealed with the National Museum of the American Indian—New York, George Gustav Heye Center in New York, NY.
This major bilingual (English/Spanish) exhibition, illuminating Central America’s diverse and dynamic ancestral heritage with a selection of 155 objects, is on display until January 2017. Cerámica de los Ancestros examines seven regions representing distinct Central American cultural areas that are today part of Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.
